Sweet enamelled pendant painted with enamel to represent a purple and cream pansy, one of the leaves set with a small rose cut diamond.
The bail is hallmarked for 9 carat
The pendant has the three dimensional feel of a little pebble, but dos not open.
In Victorian England, lovers communicated their 'thoughts' of love by sending a bundle of herbs wrapped around a small bouquet of wild flowers; at its heart was a pansy. These small posies were a way of expressing love; the single pansy conveyed the message, 'I am thinking of you.'
