Wonderful english georgian ring circa 1780, the face of the ring decorated with hair to form a ship - and the hair is so finely worked that under a loupe you can see people on deck. Set under gently domed glass and with a order of flat cut almandine garnets.

When I bought the piece it was as a pendant but on the back side you could see where the shank had been removed. I had another damaged ring from the same period so I was able to use the shank from that which had exactly the same shade of gold.
