A really outstanding Victorian reverse painted crystal in original box.
The crystal is cut into a chunky heart and set into an 18 carat gold mount, the bail designed as a white gold stirrup, hanging from a gold strap with buckle detail (stirrup strap)
The crystal has been carved from behind with the head of a fox hound, framed by two fox tails that form a wreath like shape. Above the hound's head are the initials in gold - C.S.
The back of the heart has then been protected with a slab of crystal set with the gold frame.
The silk in the box lid is printed in gold - 'W & E Mimpriss, Goldsmith and Jewellers, 32 Davies Street, Berkeley Square.'
Grays Antique Market is in Davies Street so it is wonderful to see a piece of jewellery coming from so closeby.
